Blacksburg Volunteer Fire Department
Public Education

At the Blacksburg Volunteer Fire Department one way we help serve the community is through public education. By educating the public, we hope to help you better understand what to do in case of an emergency. Below are links to websites that are dedicated to public education of fire safety.

Be Fire Smart - This is a website offered by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. It offers valuable information to help prepare you in case you are ever faced with a fire emergency. It also offers information detailing how to detect and correct fire hazards in your home.

Safe Kids USA - This website offers information about how to keep your children safe and teach them about fire safety.

Sparky.org - This website offers interactive activities for children to learn about fire safety and prevention.

SmokeyBear.com - Only YOU can prevent wildfires.  Learn more about how to prevent wildfires and take the pledge.

Blacksburg Town Ordinances - A list of town ordinances that are also enforced with the county, state, and federal laws.  Section 7 is directly fire related.

Please check back often as we will be adding to this section of our website to better help serve you.
