Car leaves Interstate on-ramp; Skids Into woodline

February 8, 2018

At approximately 8:10 a.m. Blacksburg fire department was dispatched to mile marker 102 southbound on-ramp of Interstate 85 referencing a single vehicle motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the patient was located on the side of the interstate sitting on the guardrail with minor injuries. The patient was treated and transported by Upstate Carolina EMS. Fire Crews worked to prepare the vehicle for the Wrecker Service. The vehicle is believed to be a total loss.

The driver of the vehicle was a brother firefighter. Blacksburg fire department prays for his speedy recovery. Many thanks to the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office for their assistance at this scene. Blacksburg fire units cleared
